Oyinlola, Aregbesola’s Battle Continues On 2 February
This followed today’s decision of the court, led by Justice Victor Aime Omo Omage, to give ruling on the application filed by counsel to Aregbesola, Mr. Kola Awodein, SAN.
Awodein, the lead counsel to Aregbesola, is asking the court to order MTN to release the call log that established an alleged romance between the tribunal and the counsel to Oyinlola.
Awodein, while seeking an amendment of some reliefs, argued that justice was perverted at the Osun State Election Petitions Tribunal in favour of governor Oyinlola. He pointed out that the Osun state election petitions tribunal was biased from inception, leading to a wrong judgement.
He appealed to the court to allow his relief to be amended, insisting that it was to right the wrong perpetrated by the Osun State Election Petitions Tribunal.
However, counsel to governor Oyinlola, Mr. M. O. Oke (SAN), who spoke on behalf of the lead counsel, Kunle Kalejaiye, SAN; INEC counsel, Mr. Olutoyin Uko and Osun State Commissioner for Justice, Niyi Omolade, opposed the application. He argued that if granted, it would seriously injure the defendant (governor Oyinlola).
