FCT minister asks landlords to repaint houses

The Minister in charge of the Federal Capital Territory, Alhaji Adamu Aliero, has directed property owners in the territory to redecorate their property in order to enhance the aesthetic beauty of the city.

The minister, who gave this directive on Friday in Abuja, revealed that the Department of Development Control has already commenced identification and marking of buildings that require renovation.

According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the FCT Minister, Muhammad Sule, and made available to our correspondent, the minister stated that it was the statutory responsibility of the Department of Development Control to ensure that dilapidated structures in the Federal Capital Territory were given a face lift.

Aliero called on all property owners whether government, corporate or private to hasten up to renovate such property to allow Abuja maintain its beauty.

According to him, the department had previously served several notices on such property owners and urged them to comply in the overall interest city.
